Product Review - NYX Liquid Black Liner

NYX Collection Noir Liquid Black Liner

Perfecting the cat eye flick has been a mission of mine for the last 4 years! Ever since I tried my friends Urban Decay Liquid Liner I've been addicted and I'm not afraid to admit it!!!

I came across this NYX Liner at The Beauty Trade Show last year at Excel (London) - it was reasonably priced so I thought I'd pick it up and give it a go - boy am I glad I did!!!

The brush is straight and fine, it's perfect for building up the line and adding a flick. I find on some liquid liners the brushes are too thick and then it just all gets messy but this brush is ideal.

I find the best way to apply this is to start in the middle of the eye and go out, starting with a small flick and building up to desired size - finally applying to the inner eye.

The actual liner is jet black and doesn't fade at all. This product is long wearing, reasonably priced and easy to use. If you get a chance you should definitely give it a go!

Recipe - Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail

Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail Summer Recipe

Hope you all had a loovely weekend! I had Friday & today off work so had an extended weekend which has been so great!!!

On Saturday night we went out for one of my friends Birthdays - the theme was GEEK!!! I originally planned to wear my pinafore and a shirt but changed my mind just to a skater dress, with a toddlers rucksack and specs of course!

It was a fantastic night and the drinks were definitely flowing, I was feeling it yesterday I can assure you.

Before we left to go to my friends I whipped up these DELICIOUS cocktails. I raided the cupboard to see what I had, chucked it all in a blender and it turned out to be pretty yummy. I thought I'd share the recipe with you all as everyone loves a cocktail... especially as we approach summer!!!

You can change the recipe depending how strong you like it - I'll warm you these have quite a kick so you might want put less rum in... but who wants to drink cocktails in the sun and not get a little giggly?!

This recipe made one full pitcher of delicious drinks:

6 Shots of White Rum (we used Bacardi)
2 Shots of Black Raspberry Liquor (we used Chambord)
6 Shots of Grenadine Syrup
Sprinkling of Brown Sugar
Generous Pour of Lemonade
Loads of Ice
4 Strawberries
Dash of Lime Juice (we didn't actually have any limes so skipped this)

---- BLEND ALL TOGETHER ----

Dip the glass in water, then white sugar to frost the top.
Slice strawberry and place on rim for decoration.
Fill half of the glass with Ice
Pour cocktails
ENJOY LADIES & GENTS!

Nail Look - Barry M Gelly Pink

Barry M Jelly Pink Varnish Gold Glitter Nail Art

In my last Boots Haul I mentioned I picked up some Barry M Gelly nail
varnishes. I couldn't wait to get my hands on these... or get the nail varnish on my hands!

This is the first look I've tried with the new colours, I opted for PINK as to be honest I am one of those sickening girly girls that love pink!!!

The colour went on SO nicely. It was a pleasure to apply, smooth, workable, and so glossy. I wanted to add something different so I put Barry M Gold Glitter on my ring finger, I put 3 thick layers of this to really build up the glitter. To finish don't forget your top coat!

I absolutely love this look, it's so shiny and really catches peoples eyes.

I've been seeing so many celebrities in Tuxedo style trousers recently! The final push to do a blog post on this look came on Monday while watching Made In Chelsea (is anyone else obsessed with this programme and absolutely hates Spencer?!...just me?) So anyway - I spotted Lucy Watson had them on while at LFW and they look GREAT!

I've recreated a look Kim Kardashian rocked (pre bump) but I've shopped around to find it on a much cheaper level (as much as I would love a pair of Lanvin trousers this isn't realistic for us girls!)

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

I think I have tried every mascara on the market... from high end Dior to the
more purse friendly 17. I am constantly looking for the perfect mix of length, volume, and no clumps!!!

Well girls - HOLD THE PRESS -Benefit They're Real is the best mascara I have ever tried and I'm really not exaggerating.

I will start with the wand... this is rubber and covered in tiny spikes, it catches the lashes perfectly. The end of the wand is oh so perfect for flicking out the outer lashes for sexy cat eye. MEOW.

The formula is an intense black, applies smoothly and is really buildable for thicker longer lashes.

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

To apply, I start with combing downwards
to coat the top of the lash, I then apply the rest of the lashes from root to tip - If you feel they're starting to look quite clumpy try wiggling the wand in small zig-zags,

Overall I give this mascara a 5/5. This is the 3rd lot I've bought... I wanted to be sure that it definitely was perfect before I wrote this all singing, all dancing review. I am completely in love with They're Real & would recommend it to everyone.

Outfit of the Night

Recently I've been going out mainly on Friday nights but this weekend saw the
return of the classic Saturday night out! I love going out on a Saturday, you have all day to nap, relax and prepare yourself for the big night ahead!!

I opted for a LBD, this was from Boohoo and was only £20! It was quite like my Hybrid dress from my Birthday Post, the fabric wasn't as nice but it was £50 cheaper which makes me feel less guilty if I don't wear it more then a few times.

For my hair I added a set of Headkandy Hair Extensions (shade Butterscotch Highlights), back brushed the roots and gripped a few bits back! Makeup was a simple brown smoky eye, Ardell lashes and peach cheeks/lips.

The night out itself was great, we went to a few bars, ended in a club and left about 3am with VERY sore feet!

Yesterday my boyfriend and I had a very long lie in then popped down to Cheddar. First of all we watched how cheese was made - it was interesting to see how much hard work goes into making cheese the traditional way, the poor man looked exhausted! We then followed our noses and wandered into the shop, here we were faced with an endless amount of sumptuous  samples! We were able to try everything in the shop - all types of cheeses, jams, chutneys and biscuits - I can honestly say this is my favourite type of shop!  I ended up leaving with a bag full of chilli cheese, chilli jam & oat cakes... Can't wait to crack these out with a nice bottle of wine!

After this we wandered across to a traditional little sweet shop, here we saw a demonstration on how Chocolate Limes were made, the smell of the melting sugar and lime flavours was so warming and yummy I couldn't resist buying some sweets for the journey home!

How was your weekend? Were you out enjoying the sun on Saturday?

China Print Style Guide

Recently I've been seeing a lot of blue & white china prints. Apart from it reminding me of the bedding in my
spare room it also makes me think of SPRING!!!

I love white & blue together in summer, there's something so nautical about it! The china prints are really pretty & feminine and can be worn in different ways (shorts, blouses, dresses...)

I wanted to show how versatile this print can be so I found a gorgeous pair of printed trousers from Zara and I have created 3 looks for you.

RIMMEL Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch Review

My favourite look for Spring/Summer is always a golden tanned sun-kissed look! We all like to look glowing & healthy right?!

To add to my collection of highlighting products I picked Rimmels new Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch RRP £4.99.

This product is available in 2 shades - Radiance Rose and Shimmering Sand. The Radiance Rose looked absolutely gorgeous but reminded me a lot of Benefits High Beam which I already have so I skipped that and picked up the more golden tone - Shimmering Sand!

The highlighter has warm hues of gold, and beige with a eye catching shimmer which looks great in the light!

To apply this I squeeze a pea size on my finger - I then dab this between 2 fingers and gently apply on my cheekbone and then any leftover on my brow bone.

Before you apply make sure you have already powdered as this could make it loose its glisten. I like to apply mine in this order - primer, concealer, foundation, powder, highlighter, bronzer, blusher... and then you can always add some powder highlighter on top so it really stands out. Mac Soft & Gentle looks great!!!

Overall I give this product 4/5 it's very similar to Benefit Sun Beam but a quarter of the price!!!

Have you tried many highlighters? What's your favourite one?

Boots Haul - 3 for 2 Heaven

Over the weekend I popped into Boots to take advantage of the current 3 for 2 Offer!!!

When I'm in Boots I find it so easy to get carried away.... the bright lights, the delicious cocktail of perfumes, and of course - end less makeup! I usually end up leaving 30 minutes later covered in lipstick swatches and clutching a few new items to try out/add to my growing collection of products.

First on my wish list was Lee Stafford Argan Oil. Moroccon Hair Oils have been massive over the last 24 months - I already have L'oreal Mythical Oil from an old Glossybox but I wanted to try a different one. This was £11.99 for 50ml... Review coming soon!

From the Lee Stafford range I also purchased Bleach Blondes Shampoo & Conditioner. I hate it when my blonde highlights go brassy so purple shampoo really helps combat that - I've tried I few different ones but I really can't recommend this enough - these were £6.39 each

Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish - my friend let me try this a couple of days ago and I fell in love instantly so had to pop out and buy some. I choose the colours Papaya, Light Blue & Pink - £3.99 each

Benefit They're Real - INCREDIBLE. That is really all I can say!!! I'll be posting a review this week but I am in love with this mascara - £19.50

Benefit Fake Up - This product has been recently launched so I thought I'd pick it up to give it a go. My drawer of concealers seems to be growing very rapidly in the search for a bag eraser - £18.50

My overall bill came to around £55 after discount which I think was very reasonable for the amount/quality of products I picked up. The Benefit products weren't included in 3 for 2 but the lovely ladies popped in some samples to try.

Everybody loves a sample ♥

Have you taken advantage of the 3 for 2 offer? What's your opinion on Benefit Fake Up?
