Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder - Blondes Review

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder Blondes 02 Review

It's 4am, you're tired, dressed for maximum comfort and fed up of carrying your heavy hand luggage - if there's one thing that can make this situation better it's DUTY FREE!

I travelled to Jamaica from Gatwick and although I'm not a huge fan of it's out of date Terminal I just had to have a cheeky look in Duty Free. I picked up some essentials (MAC Brow Pencil & Chanel Mascara) but I had my heart set on Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder before I even left for the airport. I had been watching some Millie Mackintosh video's on YouTube for that ultimate dewy bronzed makeup inspiration and she mentioned she loved to use this... so like the Makeup Addict I am I had to pick it up!

Before purchasing this bronzer I only owned one other Guerlain product which was the Lingerie de Peau Foundation (because it was recommended by Grazia!) I always felt like Guerlain was more of a 'mature' makeup brand and that they woudn't do anything fun or trendy. That all changed when I had my makeup done on their counter in my local John Lewis - the woman who done it was my age in the 60's and she was incredible at makeup. She applied the best smokey eye I've ever seen and she had loads of stories about makeup from the 60's to go along with it!

Like everything Guerlain do the packaging is just delicious. It feels heavy, looks glam and is beatiful on the inside as well as the outside. The bronzer has a slight rose smell to it but it's not overwhelming and it feels very light when on.

I apply all my other makeup first and use this last, kind of like a little extra oomph to my look. The mix of bronzes, peaches and pinks really bring out that glow in your skin and make you look radiant. To apply I lightly swirl my Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush and then buff into my cheeks and temples, I usually finish by doing a quick sweep of the brush all over my face.

I really love the overall look this product gives, it feels exspensive to use and you are left with a gorgoeus glow. I'm not sure how great it will look when my tan fades but I think it's a great bronzer for summer (and the weekend with lots of fake tan!) I used to love Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Bricks but this is a lot more subtle and ideal for everyday wear.

You're in Jamaica, c'mon and smile!

Wow I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! I've been pretty busy with birthdays and familly and last week I returned from the most amazing trip in Jamaica! I wanted to share a few snaps with you to show how truely amazing it was - the sun, the beach, the people and the food... I loved it all!!!

We had a nasty wake up at 3am to travel to Gatwick, we then jumped on  swift 10 hour flight to land in Montego Bay in sunny Jamaica - from there it was then a 90 minute transfer to our hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay. After spending hours traveling (and being chucked 5 hours back in time) I couldn't think of anything more perfect then being greeted with a delicious rum topped cocktail. Once we finished sipping our drinks dry and admiring the gorgeous views we dropped our luggage in the room and headed to dinner.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay was all inclusive - this means all food and drink is included which is perfect if you're looking for a break where you don't have to think about budgeting. The food was delicious and the staff great, everyday we popped along to the beach jerk hut and had fresh barbequed chicken with rice'n'pea smoothered it a volcanic hot jerk sauce! Dinner most night varied from Jamaican, to Mexican and it was all fresh, colourful and delicious.

Before visiting Jamaica I had only really been on European beach holidays - I can fully say this beach was ON ANOTHER LEVEL!!! The sand was fine and white, the sea was so warm (around 30 degrees) and it perfectly clear. Our days mainly consisted of laying in the sun, getting too hot, swimming in the sea ... repeat. You had locals wandering up and down the beach singing and selling bits and pieces and it really got you in the Jamaican mood (that and all the frozen daiquiri's!)

Within the resort there was a company offering boat trips, we opted for a boat trip that included snorkelling, swimming through caves, and visiting Ricks Cafe which is a famous bar where you can jump off the cliffs! I'd never been snorkelling before (other than on the beach) and I found it really interesting (if not a bit scary). All the corals to gaze at, and the bright and different fish! Ricks Cafe was pretty touristy ($5 for a small cocktail) but it was great fun to watch people taking the leap of faith... followed by a huge splash and a cheer from the crowd!

Jamaica has been my favourite place I've ever visited and I cannot wait to return to the Caribbean Islands, they are absolutely stunning and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I hope you enjoyed hearing about my week away, I can definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking for the perfect, sunny beach holiday!

Where's the nicest place you've been on holiday?

Loved By Mollie - My Favourite Picks

It's been announced that the ever glamorous Mollie King is collaborating with Oasis to bring you her very own line... if anyone loves Mollie King as much as me you would of been very excited!!!

I've always loved Mollie Kings style, she dresses so sophisticated, but yet always manages to keep it young and on a budget which means we can achieve her look without having to break the bank. Mollie is most comomnly spotted wearing Topshop but they seem to only do collaborations with designers so Oasis is a great next stop.

I personally haven't shopped in Oasis for years, it's always been a bit boring and overpriced for my liking but this new collection has definitely had me paying them a visit! The range of items offered in the 'Love by Mollie' is a great capsule collection that contains warm autumnal colours and gorgeous pieces perfect for layering.

These are my favourite 3 looks for the LOOKBOOK on the Oasis website...

I've also popped some of my favourite items that I'm drooling lusting over below to give you an idea of the range, you can take a peek at it all HERE.

Topshop Beguiled Lipstick Review

Topshop Beguiled Lipstick Review

I've been wanting a plum lipstick for Autumn, I love how dark and vampy they look - especially paired with leather and a fedora. I picked up Beguilded in Topshop for £8, I've always loved Topshop lipsticks, the colours are gorgeous, they're moisturisng and reasonably priced.

This shade is quite a red toned plum rather than purple but this is better for me as with my fair skin too purple would look terrifying! The consistency is like all other Topshop lipsticks but slightly drier. I had this on for around 3 hours (and 2 glasses of wine) before I needed to top up. When I went to apply more I noticed that it had gone very dry around the outside, I had to scrub it iff with a bit of tissue and reapply, I think the best way to avoid this would of been to put lip balm on before applying any lipstick.
